Crew Chat with Jose Rodriguez

As someone who has been a part of the Community Life team from the get-go, Jose understands the vision for Delta Coves. While residents use the amenities and walk the beautiful trails around the community, the pristine condition may seem like magic. In reality, Jose works hard to keep the community looking beautiful and in working order — managing maintenance and repairs across our vibrant neighborhood.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a responsible, organized, and happy person most of the time. I like to take bike rides with my wife in my free time and spend time learning more about our religion. Most of the time, I’m looking for things that need to be done.

What is your role at Delta Coves and what drew you to the community at first?

I’m Delta Coves’ landscaping and facilities manager. DMB hired me to work on this community six years ago. Later I met Monica and joined the Cohere team in 2022.

How long have you called the Delta home?

I have been living in this area for 20 years now. When I moved to Oakley, I knew this area and the Delta was a nice place to live.

What's your favorite thing in the area?

I like to ride a bicycle on the trails and go to cherry picking during the season.

What are your favorite hobbies?

One of my hobbies is dancing salsa with my wife and enjoy relaxing to Spanish music. I also like putting together puzzles then framing them.

It's potluck day, what are you bringing?

I like to bring Mexican-style fish or shrimp ceviche.

Where's your favorite vacation spot?

We love going on vacations with family, or heading to Cancun and New Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with warm weather on the ocean.

Are you involved in any volunteer work?

Yes, I am a volunteer at St Vincent De Paul — a nonprofit association — and work with the community of Bethel Island and Oakley.
