Crew Chat with Sara Bristoll

Leading the communications charge for Delta Coves Community Life since February 2024, Sara Bristoll brings newly retro cheesy puns to Delta Coves News, the resident website, and Community Life Facebook group.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m an avid reader, cook, and mom of two chaos makers — three if you count our new puppy. My husband and I have been together since 2008 and, much to his chagrin, I’m a horrible golfer and fisherman. My oldest, Jackson (6), is big on basketball and Formula 1 racing. My daughter, Hazel (2), can be found singing, talking on her play phone, and coloring everything.

What's your experience with communications?

After getting a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arizona State University, I spent 12 years working in marketing bouncing between industries. And now I’m pretty good at talking about finances and housing online. In my tenure, I’ve launched businesses on social media, created blogs, managed membership magazines, and learned a few design tips and tricks along the way.

What inspired you to become Delta Coves' Communications Manager?

One of the reasons my family moved into Eastmark was the idea of surrounding ourselves in a community. It’s something I’m passionate about and inspired me to start Eastmark’s first book club. Being a part of the Community Life team who are building community in Delta Coves allows me to share that mission – even if I’m a state away.

Where do you call home?
I currently live in another Cohere community — Eastmark. However, I have called the Greater Phoenix area home since I was learning my ABCs and 123s.
Where's your favorite travel destination?

For someone who doesn’t live anywhere near the beach, I love being near the water. I love Maui, Hawaii and also Annapolis, Maryland. My dream vacation involves spending several months exploring Europe.

Do you have a favorite thing to cook for potlucks?

It depends on what I’ve signed up for. Appetizers: Queso dip with sausage. Entrees: Green chili chicken enchiladas. Sides: Homemade macaroni and cheese. Dessert: My grandma’s cinnamon rolls or my mom’s cookies.

What's your favorite book?

This feels like an impossible question. I’m mood reader and have so many books I love, and no favorites. I grew up loving Harry Potter and To Kill a Mockingbird, then moved on to Dean Koontz and Dan Brown. Nowadays, I’ll read any fictional book that transports you to another place. Some of my recent favorites: All the Light We Cannot See, Beach Read, and the Sarah J. Maas universe.

It's the weekend, what are you doing?
I’m probably at a youth basketball game for my son or a kids’ birthday party — or both. Other than that, it’s the typical closing out the week and prepping for the new week’s tasks.
What type of volunteer work do you do?

I serve on the PTO Board for my son’s school – designing flyers, running their social media accounts, and creating their newsletters.

Is there a fun fact you'd like to share?

Sure! I’ve tried my hand at writing, I just find it hard to stay on task with the stories I want to tell. There are a few unedited, unpublished books on my home laptop. One of these days, I’ll polish them up and send them out into the world.
