Celebrating safely in the Delta

Celebrations happen for many reasons – holidays, birthdays, accomplishments among them. Whatever your reason for wanting to shout with joy from the docks, keep these rules – and laws – in mind.

Fireworks

Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department reminds residents that fireworks of any kind are outlawed anywhere inside county lines and carry a fine up to $500 per incident.

Delta Coves’ governing documents also prohibit the use of fireworks. Violators can receive a fine up to $500 on the initial offense.

Help prevent fires – keep the fireworks out of the County. Residents can report fireworks by calling 833-885-2021 and fires by calling 911.

Firing into the air

Shooting firearms into the air may make a fun bang – and bring unintended consequences for yourself and others. California law prohibits the discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner – including firing into the air. Afterall, what goes up must come down.

Noise levels

Be mindful of neighbors when celebrating into the night. Noise travels farther over water and land – and our serene lagoon makes up a large portion of our beautiful community. Be considerate to your neighbors when hosting holiday gatherings.

Let’s join together to celebrate safely in Delta Coves this year.
