Delta Coves Leadership

The foundation for a thriving community

Leadership — an oft-used buzzword — can bring people and ideas together to make things happen. It can be the foundation for a thriving community, putting community interest over personal agenda. It is pulling together everyone’s unique strengths, talents and passions to collectively inspire a thriving community culture. And now you have the opportunity to be a part of the mix.

Driven with a purpose

Resident leaders help steer the Delta Coves community spirit — building connection within every cove. Through the leadership program, these stewards gain a deeper understanding of the Delta Coves vision and the work necessary to maintain the community, strengthen their own leadership values, grow relationships with neighbors, and work collectively on initiatives with a lasting and meaningful impact.

Time well spent

Delta Coves Leadership begins each year in February and ends in November — with the additional requirement to attend the January info session before applying. Core program classes take place one Saturday morning per month from 9:30 a.m. to noon — with dates published in advance. Special activities including tours, social outings, workshops and group initiatives may occur outside of that time. Residents do not have any cost to participate.

Learning together

The core program focuses on personal leadership development; gaining a deep understanding of the Delta Coves vision and community plan; learning more about economic development strategies in the California Delta, and exploring other current issues impacting Delta Coves, Bethel Island, and our surrounding areas.

Leaders also work together to organize and fulfill volunteer and service projects benefiting the greater community.

Lifelong leadership

After completion of the 10-month program, class participants are inducted as full-fledge members of Delta Coves Leadership where they have opportunities to expand their leadership roles in the community. Graduates of the program may be called upon to become stewards of their coves as the community builds out and programs expand.

Diving into the program

There are a limited number of spots in the program annually. Only one member of each household may be selected to complete the leadership program each year. In order to receive the online application, residents must first attend an information session — held in January.

Leadership class members must also agree to the leadership and volunteer values before the program begins.
