Tell us briefly about yourself.
I was born and raised in Northern California. After going to school at University of Nevada, Reno for my BA in Journalism, I was employed at a video production company as lead video editor. For several years I helped film then edit promotional videos and events in the Reno/ Tahoe area. My specialty is creating unique recap videos for the purpose of increasing excitement among customers.
What is your role and what about the position/community drew you to become part of the Community Life team?
I am the new Community Coordinator at Delta Coves. Right off the bat, I was intrigued by the position since it involves interacting with homeowners and getting to know the community. I really enjoy learning about the experiences of others while helping as much as I can in the community.
How long have you called the Delta home?
I’ve been working for Delta Coves since Aug. 21. I love it here! When I was younger, my friends and I would go out to the Delta around Discovery Bay for holidays.
What’s your favorite thing about the area?
I love the diversity of the people in the area. Since I only live about 20 minutes away, it’s amazing how quickly you can get to such great scenery.
Do you have a favorite book?
As of right now, I’m reading the Throne of Glass series. I can’t get enough of these books. I think the author Sarah J. Maas does a great job at capturing each side of a single story along with each character description. I’m only on the third book, so please no spoilers!
What are you most looking forward to at Delta Coves?
I’m looking forward to the season opener next year around Memorial Day weekend. Thankfully, I was here to witness the season closer during Labor Day weekend. However, I’d love to see the season kick off with a bang next year.
Do you have a favorite local band, restaurant, or shop you’d like to share?
Since I live in Brentwood, my favorite local restaurant is Tailgaters. My family goes to this bar & grill at least once a week. The lemon pepper wings, and cheesesteak is my absolute favorite!
Do you have a favorite thing to cook for potlucks?
My favorite to make is buffalo chicken dip. It’s super easy to make and always a fan favorite for appetizers.
Favorite vacation?
Jamacia—No question about it! My immediate and extended family went in 2018 for my college graduation. Witnessing the Bob Marley Museum and the incredible waterfalls was a once in a lifetime experience that I’ll never forget.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?
My first pick would be somewhere tropical. I love the beach! My family is from Georgia, so Savannah or Tybee Island comes first to mind. The water is warm, and the people have amazing Southern hospitality.
It’s your days off, what are you doing?
I’d most likely be sleeping in. I’m a big believer in beauty sleep! Later in the day, I’ll be reading, cleaning or exploring a new brewery with my family/friends.
Are you involved with any volunteer work?
I’m not involved in volunteer work right now but while I was living in Reno, Nevada, I worked as a Pre-school teacher helping kids 4-5 years old with basic developmental skills. I had days where I would stay later or come earlier to help a parent. Being a babysitter to some of my students would soon fall after.
What’s a fun fact about yourself you’d like everyone to know?
I love to dance! I used to teach dance classes in Reno while earning money being an ambassador dancing on social media. Another fun fact is that I love gymnastics. I have been a gymnastics instructor for over 10 years now. I’ve taught parent child classes all the way to advance team programs. Dancing and gymnastics is in my blood!
