Picturesque views and inviting streetscapes define the physical aspects of Delta Coves. Neighbors fill the community with joy and laughter, connections and memories. In honor of National Good Neighbor Day on Sept. 28, establish a good neighbor mindset with these pillars of building a great neighborhood.
1. Connection
Introduce yourself and say “hello” to help build connection with neighbors. Open the door to knowing your neighbors.
2. Invitation
Extend an invitation to your neighbors to join you for a meal, take a trip around the lagoon, or something fun in the cove. “Communitas” — the spirit of community — is traditionally measured by the number of meals spent together.
3. Celebration
Cheer each other on. Take the time to celebrate the little moments and the milestones by wishing your neighbors a happy birthday or congratulations for their acheivements.
4. Awareness
Keep your eyes and ears open. Know the status quo in your cove. Stay attentive to the safety and security of the people and homes nearby. We are safer and stronger together.
5. Availability
Show up for your neighbors when needed. See a boat about to float off in the wind? Say something. Drop of meals or ask what you can do when neighbors need a helping hand. Building community is as much about giving as getting.
